Startechup was founded in 2013. The company’s goal of providing world-class software development solutions was so effective that more tech enthusiasts and developers came in and joined the organisation. By 2020, Startechup has transformed itself into a thriving development agency of over 30 developers with numerous projects under its belt.
The company was also acknowledged for developing GlobeDrop, a one-stop digital solution that helps connect people, groups, and travellers to different NGOs and charities. GlobeDrop is a software that streamlines in-kind donations, particularly when one is travelling.
This concept of helping the community is one of the long-term goals of Startechup, which is why the company created the Startechup Academy.
Startechup Academy aims to empower anyone to learn programming languages, tools, and frameworks through its online and interactive streams – FOR FREE.
Startechup Academy – Reaching Out to the Tech Community
While 2020 has not given the world a lot of reasons to celebrate, Startechup saw a silver lining that provided it with the opportunity to do something it has long wanted to do. On August 27, the company introduced and launched the Startechup Academy, an online platform that intends to share knowledge with the community. While its focus is on tech development, anyone with an interest and curiosity in technology and digital solutions is free to join.
As Startechup has already been doing a lot of knowledge-sharing within its community of developers, this year, the goal is to reach out to more people, more groups. According to CEO Baptiste Leroux, the idea is to harness the power of the internet, to use it in a much more efficient way so that they can share knowledge with as many people as possible.
Starting on August 27, 2020, Startechup Academy has opened weekly classes for all developers, individuals, and groups interested in improving their technology development and programming skills. The first session featured an introduction to backend development.
Course 1: Backend Development with NodeJS. This is a part of series where you’ll learn how to create an application using MERN stack: MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.
Since it launched, Startechup Academy had already a great success with its first course.
Session two, scheduled for September 3, 2020, will focus on backend development, with spotlights on
- User Entity API layer,
- encrypting passwords,
- model relationships (many to many),
- authentication layer, and
- securing APIs with tokens.
Startechup Academy is an open and generous tech community, so it’s easy for you to join its series of online workshops. All you have to do is fill up a registration form (click here).
Schedules and other details are also posted on their social media pages:
Startechup Academy also has a Facebook group and a discord channel for everyone to discuss and learn together.
Interested participants are likewise encouraged to create a YouTube account so they can be added to the Startechup YT community. The channel is where projects and courses videos/webinars will be uploaded. Participants are classified into three teams:
- mentors (the company’s senior developers),
- Startechup team members (the rest of the company’s developers), and
- students (the participants).
With Startechup Academy, the company is staying true to its goal of sharing knowledge to the tech community. Moreover, it is living up to its mission of providing the best service to its clients.
